Ode to Garmin

Oh Garmin why did you lie to me on our run
I glanced down to see a mile split that would have been fun
the first mile came up a rather bit fast
Running quick like that is far in my past
on mile two you lied to me again
making shit up isn’t right I can’t be your friend
at mile three I was through in record time
what the fuck Garmin are you satellite blind?
if you ever get that out of whack
when you end up under a car tire I want to hear no flak
Be precise as you can possibly be
or I’ll fling your sorry ass into a tree
when we go run I want you to be spot on
with the mile markers otherwise you’ll find yourself pawned
So dear Garmin I still like you for now
My likeness is fickle though and oh quite how.

Ode to Cyclists

Cyclist with your kit so bright
logos out in plain sight
all kitted up and looking rather spent
wafting about your after ride scent
Emptying your pockets you didn’t bother to do
gel wrappers arm warmers and wtf you were even wearing your cycling shoes
when you drive to eat and I know you did
maybe some shorts, shirts and sandals instead of bibs
think about what wear into the store
little kids then would not run in fear
of you slipping in your cycling shoes
busting your ass leaving a bruise
adults would not cringe and plead
for you to have some decency
in the future please plan ahead
cycling kit in chipolte is fashion sense plain dead

coming soon odes to my dog and garmin.
